That's My Girls!!!

YIPPEEE!!! Ari went potty at school yesterday! (of course she peed on the carpet later that night, but so what!) We are so proud of her!

And, Miss O read a book to me yesterday that she got at school---I know her Aunt Rene will be EXTREMELY proud, since the book she read to me is one of Aunt Rene's favorites:
The Foot Book!
For those who don't know, my sister Rene is a podiatrist, activist, mom, wife, and sister, just to name a few of the hats she wears---She is a wonderful woman with a BIG heart, and I am blessed to call her sister! :-) I will add "proud aunt" to the list, now!
Peace out!

Would you rather have a steak with a snake or ramen noodles with love?

One of my FAVORITE scriptures, which I find so much truth in, is this:
Proverbs 15:17
Better a meal of vegetables where there is love
than a fattened calf with hatred.

To me, this is so important---it brings you back to what is really important: LOVE. The enemy tries to distract us into believing that what we NEED is more material things, the brand name clothes, the perfect body, the new car, the McMansion....but how many of you know that those things will all fade away....the novelty wears off...and furthermore, what good are any of those things without love? Without Christ?

You know, before I was saved, I was caught up in this trap...I would try to quell the loneliness with "stuff", and it would feel "good" for a fleeting time, but in the end, the feelings of sadness, inadequacy, etc. would come back...but praise be to God for bringing me out of that and into a security through Him! (2 Cor 5:17)

So, as you go through this day, don't be jealous for things, don't focus on what you don't have, don't fall into the "if I only had this" or "when I get that, then I'll be happy", don't use your resources foolishly, but instead, make THIS the day that you are grateful for all that you do have, and especially be grateful that you can love and be loved...for this is the GREATEST of all things!

It's Monday

Gracious Lord, it's Monday again...finally got Ariana to take a nap, mostly by threatening to leave a poop-filled diaper in her room if she didn't calm herself....it's amazing what the threat of a poopy diaper can do!! SCREAMING to SILENCE in seconds.... :-)
Well, I will soon be getting ready to carpool, so that means waking up that baby....pray for my eardrums, please!!
On a real serious note, I would like to send a HUGE hug to my girl, Heidi, whose grandma went to heaven, after living a long, awesome life. It's sad for us to lose those we love, but even worse if we aren't sure if they had a relationship with the Lord. Heidi's grandma was a strong Christian who lived a good life, and now she is being rewarded, eternally....
Alright, y'all. I pray for peace, joy, and that God would provide you with everything you need today, no matter what that may be!!
Until next time.....

Beef Jerky, Baby!!

Hey Everybody, what's crackin'??

Just pulled a mutha-lode of beef jerky out da oven, and DAG!! It is some spicy stuff!! I tried a new recipe this time, and it is REAL peppery! But good!! In the past I have done a little spicy and sweet ditty, and I think I'll go back to that on the next batch, but for now, this jerky will DEFINITELY cause me to increase my fluid intake!!! :-) Ha! Anyway, my big sis, Juanita, got me on the beef jerky makin' train...she is a foodie and a goodie!! I am so proud of her, and REALLY happy because she recently accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior!! Not much could make me happier than knowing I will see her on the other side....anyway....She inspires me and I am so glad God made her my sister!

So, I have another test on Tuesday, which I feel oh-so-unprepared for right now....my test the other night was a pass--YAHOO!! I just finished up my last round of hospital clinicals over the weekend--we got to go to the ED, and I think I found my home, there! I love the treatin' and streetin'---that part is awesome!! Plus, the people that work in the ED are REAL CRAZY, but I should have known that, since my big brother Craig-a-roo is an ED Doc, and he SHO' is crazy!!! :-) Seriously, he is a very intelligent, fun, and handsome guy, and I am SO blessed to call him brother!! I didn't get to see a whole lot of exciting stuff in the ED, but I did get to start an IV, which was cool.

Me and the fam had a good weekend....went by too quickly, though, as usual.....hope everyone has a great week!!!
